As the first international tourism hotel in Cairns and located on the site where Cairns was proclaimed to be a city the property has historical displays in the bar and lobby area. Historical black and white photographs and artefacts are displayed in many of the corridors and public areas.
The property is the sponsor of the Kamsler Award with the local Cairns Tourism Association which awards staff excellence in tourism service in the Cairns region.
